A Yule/Solstice Reading for Collective Growth and Transformation 🌲✨
As the Winter Solstice approaches, we are invited to reflect on the cycles of death and rebirth, darkness and light, endings and new beginnings.
As the Winter Solstice approaches, we are invited to reflect on the cycles of death and rebirth, darkness and light, endings and new beginnings. Using The Golden Tarot of Botticelli, I’ve drawn cards for the collective—offering insights to guide us through this sacred season. Let’s explore what the cards reveal.
10 of Swords (R)
Although it may seem like things are overwhelming and that there is no growth or abundance to be had, this card indicates that the seeds you planted through self-care, advocacy, and being a good person to yourself and your community are coming to fruition just not how you imagined.
We are called to go through this period of change and upheaval as a collective because we can change how we live and interact with our communities. By collectively going through this painful time in our country and the world facing similar challenges, we are rising above to create a new beginning for all!
This isn’t a time to keep your head in the sand and wallow in self-pity. It’s an opportunity to look around, take full advantage of what is happening, be vocal, and start a new one!
Everything happens for a reason, and we have to go through this as a collective so we can experience a period of personal growth in the immediate and distant future.
The anguish and disappointment we’re feeling, as a collective, is ending. The swords are coming out, and you can now move forward confidently and hope for the future.
Use your gifts for GOOD. Use your gifts to heal yourself and your community!
Be sure to continue practicing gratitude for small victories during this time. Small victories are the foundation of the new space in our larger collective growth.
Knight of Pentacles (R)
You may feel like you need to do all the things because everything is moving at a quick pace. This card reminds you to go within and become better disciplined for what’s to come. Establish a solid routine for you to take deliberate and inspired action. Taking action willy-nilly isn’t going to pass the challenge before us. You need to be mindful of what you’re doing and why. Stick to the task at hand with grace and fortitude.
Get out of your comfort zone and get back into your community. Reach out to organizations you support and will support those in the greatest need. Uplift their values while working on the greater good for all.
Balance your patience with progress. Slow and steady wins the race and builds a stronger foundation. There is value in going slow and not rushing through, even if time is running out. Time is on our side.
The World
The World is appearing to remind us that there is great work to do and that things will start to come full circle. Things you didn’t know about will be revealed, and you will have a sense of closure and accomplishment coming through. It will come to fruition if you and the collective allow it to be true.
Honor what you’re doing and take time to celebrate. While there is a period of celebration, there is also a hard and long road ahead to maintain the new changes and ideas that will sustain the collective for the future.
There will be loose ends; nothing is final, so don’t despair. Keep reaching out to your community and keep being a guiding light of love and peace. Find the common good with those you interact with and be joyful in their presence.
Remember that the collective healing and connection we’re building are key to sustaining steady progress. Mindfulness and being present at the moment are important for maintaining joy, peace, and purpose during this time of transition.
The Devil
The Devil invites you to examine your shadow self and ensure you’re making strides in the right direction. Let go of all the negative habits, thoughts, and behaviors that have brought us as a collective to where we are in our society and where we ultimately want to be in the future.
Shadow work can be done through journaling, walking in nature, or mindfulness exercises. Take time to get out and shake things up as you let go of what is no longer serving you and our communities as a collective.
You have control over your shadow self, and you have the ability, with help from others, to do the work and break down the barriers that are keeping us stuck in a nonsustainable cycle. Our society needs innovation, and now is the time to tap into your intuition, take inspired action to release negative behaviors, and encourage those doing the same work.
9 of Chalices (R)
You may feel disconnected from the collective dream of what life could truly be because of all the stuff happening but know that you have it within you to reconnect with your highest self and elevate the world to a new, vibrant place to live.
Consider what the ego is and what is best for the collective. Move in collaboration and cooperation. Keep your goals in alignment with the collective to be realistic. Nothing can change overnight, and there will be challenges along the way, so be prepared to continue the uphill climb to better days and a better way of life for all.
Be encouraged to assess and recalibrate your personal dreams to align with the collective vision. Self-connection can help you find what truly serves the greater good. It’s with this connection to self that we can make some large leaps in how we are called to show up for ourselves and our communities.
Knight of Wands
Winter is a great time for you to pursue your ideas. Keep your energy and vibration high! Connect with those who help you stay connected to the bigger picture. You are a channel of positive energy, and being aligned with others who are like-minded will help you stay in the fight longer. Keep moving forward by staying kind to your community and being a force of positive energy wherever you go.
You and those in your collective are ready to take up arms because we have it within ourselves to grow and expand in a way that will benefit all individuals. Be a risk taker. Stand up for the greatest good, and others will follow.
Stay committed to the goals ahead, but be mindful not to spend your energy on too many things. Focus. There is enough for everyone to take the lead on something they’re good at, and you can support those who are doing different work than you.
Again, rest and recharge during this Winter Solstice for better harmony. Burnout is a risk when you are deeply invested in change, so pace yourself. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
3 of Swords
3 of Swords reminds us that it’s ok to feel pain and that suffering is part of life, but don’t dwell in that state. Take heart that being sad, angry, hurt, and frustrated for what has transpired is only temporary. Have a good cry, smash session, or whatever it is you need to do to release the pain and heartbreak so you can move on.
At the same time, focus on the path ahead, for brighter days are near! Celebrate with like-minded people. Find comfort in your desire to bring a better world to all! Use this time to evaluate what has happened and how you can learn from it to become better and stronger. Leave the past behind you to move forward with clarity and greater purpose. You will better understand what’s happening, as this period of anguish is temporary. We are called as a collective to heal from this dark period of our country’s history.
Good self-care starts with self-love. What ways can you show yourself love and compassion during this Winter Solstice? Journaling, practicing embodied movement, chanting, and going out into nature are great ways to show yourself some compassionate love.
2 of Chalices
This is a season of celebration! Love will generate deep connections to your community, and you will make new relationships. From those relationships, something far greater than your heart could ever imagine will be cultivated.
It is up to us to create a new way of community life and develop a new sustainable way of life. We are collectively able to connect to our higher consciousness, which will yield greater understanding and purpose for those who are open to its life-giving opportunities.
Take time to organize with a community non-profit, create a local event, or get together with your neighbors. Connecting with your community starts with YOU. Don’t rely on others to do the work. Find ways to get involved.
This Winter Solstice, let us embrace the lessons these cards offer. Together, we have the power to heal, grow, and create a brighter, more sustainable future. Let’s honor the cycles of life and take inspired action for ourselves and our communities.
